about Deanne Tyrrell

 

Deanne is the Director of Three Realms Yoga. 

Of all the yogic practices her first love is meditation. It is the one practice that transforms your state of being: it grounds you, clears your mind, opens your heart and takes you home to that place which is yourself. These qualities she tries to bring into her yoga classes. 

Deanne reminds her students to still the mind by anchoring back to the breath, breathing into the whole of the body and letting the breath do the work in the posture. She is interested in working with the pelvic floor and core. 

‘Those first two chakras really set you up with good posture- a neutral spine, a strong energy flow, a connection with the earth and a sense of stability that you feel within yourself and with your relationship to others. In a way it sets up the rest of your practice.’

Deanne spent ten years with the School of Philosophy, Sydney practicing Vedanta and mantra meditation. Her current meditation teacher is Isira Sananda who teaches ‘presence’.  Her yogic studies were completed at Nature Care College. She has spent most of her life studying yoga, meditation, Sanskrit, Vedanta and reading about enlightened beings from many traditions, especially awakened women.
